Company hopes for a glittering future
Following Scotgold Resources auctioning in November 2016 of the first ever commercially-mined Scottish gold, extracted at Cononish near Tyndrum, the mining firm continues operations under agreement from Estate Scotland.
The sale demonstrated the premium for Scottish gold, with an average price of £4,557.9 per ounce, 378% over the spot price on global commodity markets at the time of £953.
Scotgold are expanding their bulk processing trial and aim to develop a full mining project (which they have planning permission for) and to secure agreements with Scottish jewellers.
Our predecessor in Scotland, The Crown Estate, worked with Scotgold over many years as they explored and trialled extraction.
